An extremely lucky Perth man has cashed in big for the second time after winning a Millionaire Medley prize and pocketing a cool $1 million – again!
The 79-year-old man from Ellenbrook bought his ticket at Kingsway City Lottery Centre, with his numbers matching those to a division one prize in last Wednesday’s draw.
Remarkably, it is not the retiree’s first visit to the Lotterywest winners room, nor his first $1m Lotto win on a Wednesday, having previously claimed a $1m division one prize from a Wednesday draw in 2023.
The two-time Lotto winner said the experience felt familiar but no less exciting, with the family-man eager to share his news with his children.
“I said to my sons, I might be a millionaire, again,” the man laughed.
“They didn’t believe me, and I couldn’t really believe me either, until I was back in the winners room.”
Just as he did with his first cash prize, the man said he planned to share his winnings with his family.
“That’s one of the best parts about winning, being able to help the people you care about,” he said.
“I live in a retirement village, and we have a get together every Friday. It will be great to celebrate with everyone.”
The chances of winning a lotto prize twice are thought to be 24 trillion to one, yet WA has seen two repeat Lotto winners this year, with another Perth man winning $1.8m in June after cashing in a share of $3m more than a decade ago.
