The Narrogin and Districts Netball Association preliminary finals were held in Wagin at the weekend, with three exciting contests deciding the final grand final contenders across A, B and C-grades.

Williams 1 continued their impressive finals campaign with a convincing 52–31 victory over Wickepin 1 in the A-grade clash.

Williams quickly settled into their rhythm and began to build scoreboard pressure with outstanding shooting between Bella Logie and Megan Hardie.

Their strong ball movement through the midcourt from Sophie Beasley and Sienna McDonald and disciplined defensive pressure from Emmi Duff and Denver Henson made it difficult for Wickepin to find consistent attacking opportunities.

The first quarter finished with Williams up 16 goals.

Wickepin fought back hard in the second quarter, moving Georgia Dawes in to shoot with Abbey Steere, where they were able to transfer crucial defensive turnovers and net six goals in a row.

Williams however, maintained control throughout the second half to run out 21-goal winners.

The result puts Williams in the A-grade grand final, where they will meet with Cuballing again.

Wickepin 2 secured their spot in the B-grade grand final after overcoming Cuballing 2, 48–37 in a competitive preliminary final.

Both teams came out strongly, with plenty of pressure across the court making for a fast and physical contest.

Cuballing worked hard to stay within reach of the leaders, but Wickepin were able to find their attacking combinations and convert opportunities when it mattered.

Wickepin gradually created separation on the scoreboard and showed composure under finals pressure to maintain their lead through the latter stages of the game.

Cuballing continued to challenge right until the final siren, but Wickepin’s consistency helped them finish with an 11-goal victory.

Wickepin 2 now advance to the B-grade grand final to play Williams 2.

The C-grade preliminary final saw Wagin 2 defeat Flames 3, 55–35 in a strong performance on their home court.

Wagin came out with plenty of confidence and quickly established scoreboard control.

Their attacking movement created opportunities in the circle, while pressure through the midcourt helped limit Flames’ ability to transition the ball forward.

Flames continued to work hard and showed plenty of determination, but Wagin were able to maintain their advantage throughout the contest.

With 20 goals separating the sides at the final whistle, Wagin 2 secured their place in the C-grade grand final.

The Narrogin and Districts grand final day will be held in Pingelly on September 19, with Williams bringing the strongest contingent of the association with all three of their teams through to the grand final.

B-grade, 2pm: Williams 2 vs Wickepin 2

A-grade, 3.30pm: Williams 1 vs Cuballing 1
