NDNA 2026: Cuballing win golden ticket to grand final, Wickepin end Wagin’s finals campaign

The Narrogin and Districts Netball Association A-grade finals delivered a thrilling contest, with Cuballing 1 edging out Williams 1 by just two goals in a tightly fought qualifying final on Saturday.

Cuballing came out strongly but Williams were not willing to let them get away, with Bella Logie and Megan Hardie putting in the work in the circle to bring the scores even and finish the first term one goal ahead.

Williams worked hard to maintain their slim leading margin throughout the second, and by half-time Cuballing still trailed by only one goal, setting up an exciting second half.

Both teams continued to apply pressure across the court throughout the second half, with neither side willing to give an inch as the game went down to the wire.

Cuballing’s Regina Kickett was outstanding under the post, producing incredible shooting throughout the match to keep her side in the contest and capitalise on every opportunity.

For Williams, Sienna McDonald and Sophie Beasley were impressive through the midcourt, providing strong movement, composure and drive through the centre as Williams looked to maintain their lead and create opportunities in attack.

The final stages were incredibly close, but Cuballing managed to hold their nerve and secure a narrow two-goal victory with final scores at 50-52, booking their place in the grand final.

In the elimination final on Friday night, Wickepin 1 defeated Wagin 1 by nine goals, spelling the end to Wagin’s season.

Wickepin’s early advantage proved crucial to their win, but it was clear it was going to be another hard-fought match when the sides finished the opening quarter with only one goal between them.

Wagin looked to break away early in the second term, but consistent shooting from Wickepin pair Abbey and Tyler Steere kept their team in the game, and Wickepin snatched back their lead to finish a goal ahead by half-time.

The two sides went goal for goal in the second half, both fighting to be able to continue their finals campaign, but a fierce final quarter sealed the deal for Wickepin as they walked off winners 51-42.

Friday’s win set Wickepin up for a winner-takes-all preliminary final against Williams next week, with both sides looking to earn a coveted spot in the grand final.
