Narrogin Junior Basketball Association emerged victorious in the under-13 boys division 3 title during week two of the BWA Country Championships in Perth on February 15 and 16.

The under-13 boys were joined by an under-15 girls team that played in division two.

After winning all three games on the Saturday, the under-13 boys’ winning streak continued on the Sunday as they went through the regular rounds undefeated.

Finishing top of their pool, Narrogin met Margaret River in the grand final and were far too strong in the 42-16 triumph.

Narrogin’s all-round depth was the difference while Johnny Riley won the grand final most valuable player award.

The under-15 girls narrowly missed reaching the grand final of division 2, after winning division 3 last year.

They had one victory on Saturday and then won both games on Sunday to sit equal second on points.

However, on a countback, they missed out on a grand final berth.

NJBA thanked coaches Rodney Johnson and Graham Barry, managers Keith Hill and Josie Barry and scorers for all their efforts over the weekend.
