Man in 30s lucky to escape with minor injuries after truck rolls and sparks paddock fire near Corrigin

A man was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after his truck rolled over and caught fire west of Corrigin on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at 11.42am on Brookton-Corrigin Road. The fire spread from the vehicle into a nearby paddock, prompting a response from emergency crews. A crew from Corrigin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene and were able to contain and extinguish both the truck and paddock fire by 1.10pm. The driver, a man in his 30s, was able to get out of the vehicle, and sustained only minor injuries. He was taken to Corrigin Hospital for further assessment.
