Blackwood Youth Action has added a touch of snow to the main street of Bridgetown, decorating its deciduous trees with snowflakes made from epoxy resin.

The snowflakes were made by members of the youth group under the direction of Emily Smith and then hung on fishing wire, ready to decorate the trees.

To give the snowflakes their colour and sparkle, the epoxy was mixed with glitter, mica powders, alcohol dyes and resin dyes.

Ms Smith said she was impressed with the manual dexterity shown by her young charges in creating the snowflakes.
