Fourteen West Aussies have enjoyed the spoils of a $1 million Lotto win from the weekend.

The winning ticket belonged to a syndicate, with each person taking a $85,000 share of the winnings.

Seven players have claimed their share of the retailer syndicate so far including a southern suburbs man in his 20s, a win which he almost missed out on after almost forgetting to pick up his ticket last week.

“I was thinking I would just miss out on this one, someone else could take my spot,” he said.

“It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, but the win is definitely going to help me get ahead.”

The ticket was bought from Lottery Centre in Booragoon for Saturday’s draw. It is the second time the store has sold a division one ticket, the last being a year ago.

Lotto Lottery Centre owner Sharon Ben-Pelech said he was ecstatic his store had sold the winning ticket again.

“Congratulations to the winners, I’m sure there’s some very happy people out there today,” he said.

“This is some kind of good omen, we have 11 months left in the year, hopefully we sell another Division One ticket this year.

“We are into our numbers, so hopefully the winning intervals become shorter, maybe six months apart.”

A further nine WA players won a division two prize, with each ticket worth almost $12,000.

Last month, a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs gym won $1.5 million each after their syndicate scooped the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot.

The winners, who are all members at Curves Heathridge at the Belridge Shopping Centre, chipped in $5 each for the ticket which has taken out the biggest prize pool in years.
