A Currambine grandmother has a $3.39 million problem — how to play fairy godmother to her family without telling them that she won Lotto.

The woman in her 70s plans to quietly help her adult children and grandchildren after landing one of three division one prizes in Saturday Lotto’s $10 million Special Event.

But despite the life-changing windfall, she and her husband have no plans to tell their family they have suddenly become millionaires.

“We have always helped out our family when they have needed it, now we will be able to do so in more significant ways,” she said with a twinkle in her eye.

“We won’t be telling them about the win, so I guess we will have to come up with some creative explanations for why we can help them out when they need it.”

The couple plan to use some of the money to pay off their mortgage and travel around Australia.

“It is a lovely feeling of security knowing that we can have a comfortable retirement and set up our children and grandchildren for the future,” she said.

Their first taste of the windfall will come on her husband’s birthday.

The couple already had a hotel stay booked — but the $3.39 million win has prompted an upgrade.

“We had a hotel stay booked for my husband’s birthday, so we will be going for an upgraded suite now,” the winner said.

The woman bought a Slikpik System 5 ticket from Currambine Lottery Centre and was one of three winners nationally.

Her share of the $10 million prize pool was $3.33 million, with more than $57,000 in additional prizes across other divisions taking her total winnings to $3.39 million.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Jennie Fitzhardinge said System tickets covered multiple combinations of numbers, meaning a winning entry could collect prizes across several divisions.

“Saturday Lotto is played by selecting six numbers,” she said.

“Choosing a System ticket allows players to select fewer or more numbers than are drawn, generating every possible combination for your chosen numbers from a single ticket.”

The Saturday Lotto $10 million Special Event also raised about $2.4 million for the community.

Ms Fitzhardinge said the money would help Lotterywest support community organisations, including a $120,000 grant towards the 2026 Joondalup Festival.
