Steelers, Imperials leading the way in local netball’s first division

Outright first place goes on the line when Steelers 1 and Imperials 1 clash on Friday night in round six of the Eastern Goldfields Netball Association’s division one competition.

Both teams have three wins — with Imperials 1 coming off a 58-46 victory last weekend against Mana 1.

Steelers, who had a round five bye, have strung together three consecutive wins since losing the season-opener against Imperials 1, 47-35.

Also last weekend, Rookies 1 edged out Sonix 1, 39-34.

Friday night’s clash between Steelers 1 and Imperials 1 is at 6pm, followed by Sonix 1 versus Mana 1 at 7.30pm.

Sonix 1 are third with two wins while Mana 1 are yet to open their winning account.

Round six fixtures in the second and fourth divisions were played on Thursday night.
