Victory by the Helen Harding-trained The Jester’s Son in last Sunday’s $125,000 Blue Spec Drilling Boulder Cup (2125m) was complemented at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club by Peter Fernie’s three winners.
Fernie opened his account in race one, when Sovereign Crust ($3.90) won the $25,000 TABtouch Maiden (1200m).
It was the first leg of a riding double for Laqdar Ramoly, who also piloted the Rickie Brown-trained Blood Brother ($9) to a win in race four.
The second leg of Fernie’s treble was chalked up in race three, when Lucy Fiore piloted Lord Momo ($7.50) to victory over 1617m.
It was followed up in race seven, when Please Mizter ($7.50) saluted over 1400m with Jason Li in the saddle.
Fernie has a lead of more than 30 winners for the KBRC’s trainer of the year award.
Attention now switches to the Hannans Handicap meeting on October 1, followed by the Kalgoorlie Cup on October 3.
