After five season with Collingwood, former North Albany defender Marley Williams has been traded to North Melbourne for pick No. 105. The 23-year-old played 68 games for the Magpies, primarily as a small defender, and will join fellow Albany product Declan Mountford at the Kangaroos. Williams managed 11 games in 2016 after battling a foot injury but will bring much needed pace to the Kangaroos backline for the new season.

Kangaroos general manager of football Cameron Joyce said the club was excited by what Williams could provide for the club.

“Marley is an exciting footballer and plays with real speed and flare,” he said.

“We expect him to give us some great drive out of our back half and really look to take the game on as he’s done throughout his time at Collingwood.”
