The WA Country women’s side, containing Albany pair Hannah Felton and Bonnie Crook, have wrapped up the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Victoria after being knocked out in the semifinals.

After defeating South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland, WA followed that up with victory over Northern Territory to ensure they reached the semi-finals.

WA came up against Queensland in the semifinal, batting first where they were restricted to 6-79 from their 20 overs with Royals product Felton dismissed for 4.

Queensland, however, chased down the victory target in the 17th over, six wickets down to progress to Friday’s final.

Felton finished with 17 runs for the tournament.

She also bowled three overs and took five catches.

North County’s Crook made eight runs, bowled one over and took two catches in the carnival, which all in the T20 format.

It was the WA women’s teams’ best-ever performance at the annual championships.
