Storm warning for Albany and surrounds

A storm warning has been issued for people in the Great Southern, including Albany, Katanning and surrounding areas with damaging winds and hail possible.

The warning was issued by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) for those living in an area from Mandurah to Hyden to Israelite Bay.

Including people in Mandurah, Narrogin, Katanning, Bridgetown, Margaret River, Busselton, Bunbury, Albany, Esperance and surrounding areas.

The warning said a strong cold front was likely to cross the coast Saturday morning bringing possible damaging winds up to 125km/h which could cause damage to homes and property.

The front is expected to cross the south west coast between 3am and 5am before pushing further east by 8am Saturday.
