Body found in Walpole Inlet

Police are investigating a suspected boating accident after the body of a 33-year-old man was seen floating in the Walpole Inlet this morning.

The man, who has been identified as a Walpole resident, was found near a partially submerged boat after police and marine rescue received a report about 8am.

It is not believed anyone else was in the boat.

Police said the man was fishing at the time and believe he has fallen into the water, but were yet to establish how the suspected accident occurred.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
