Wagin Gun Club shoot big at Esperance Easter Carnival

The Wagin Gun Club have shot their way to an incredible tally at the 59th Easter Carnival in Esperance.

Ten clay target shooters from the region descended on the coastal town earlier this month for a weekend event at which the Wagin group won 20 ribbons.

Cameron Browne, a shooter who his teammates describe as “one of the best in Australia”, won an incredible three AA divisions, and was the overall 50 points score winner.

Jim West, a 71-year-old farmer from Wagin, finished third in the A-grade double barrels medley and said the event was a great success for the club.

“I have been in this club for a long time so it’s great to see us do well,” he said.

“When we put on our Wagin club shirts we are representing and promoting the region, so it is a great feeling competing and winning.”
