Man flown to hospital in critical condition after crash on Great Southern Highway near Katanning

A man has been flown to Perth in a critical condition after a serious crash in WA’s Great Southern.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash south of Katanning just after 8.30am today
The man was travelling south on Great Southern Highway when he left the road and struck a tree near Murdong Road.

Local police and volunteer firefighters from Katanning, Dumbleyung and Tambellup rushed to the scene where they found the driver trapped in the sedan.
The man, the sole occupant, was removed from the vehicle about 9.25am.
The Bunbury-based RAC rescue helicopter airlifted the driver to Katanning Airport where he was transferred to a Royal Flying Doctor Service plane.

The RFDS flew him to Jandakot Airport in a critical condition.
He is expected to be treated at Royal Perth Hospital.
