Katanning officially welcomed three new citizens into the community following a citizenship ceremony held by the shire.

Myo Aung, Eh Mon and Peter Hanna were declared Australian citizens during the formal event on April 21, where they took the Australian citizenship pledge committing their loyalty to Australia, its people and its laws.

The ceremony marks the final legal step in becoming an Australian citizen, with applicants receiving their citizenship certificates after publicly affirming their commitment.

The Shire of Katanning hosted the occasion at its administrative buildings, celebrating the achievement alongside the family and friends of the new citizens alongside other community members.
