The Upper Great Southern Football League season ended with a bang on Sunday as fans were treated to a day of thrilling action in Williams. The league and reserves deciders went down to the wire, with both premierships decided by a single point. Cars were stacked three-wide in places along the perimeter of Williams Town Oval by the time Boddington and Wickepin took to the field for the league grand final. Boddington managed to hold on for the 8.8 (56) to 8.7 (55) win but Wickepin showed their spirit with a remarkable fourth-quarter fightback. It was Boddington’s third league premiership in five years.
