IN PICTURES: Hundreds hit the sporting fields to enjoy a fantastic day out at the popular Borden X Cup

Fantastic community spirit was on display at this year’s Borden X Cup held on Saturday at the Borden Pavilion. Hundreds of football and netball players made the trip to the wonderful facilities that Borden has to offer for the 2023 edition of the popular sporting event. Teams representing Ravensthorpe and Districts, Gibson, Royals, Railways, North Albany, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup and Boxwood Hill competed in the AFLX competition. The Fast 5 netball competition was made up of teams from Railways, Narrikup, Warperup, Hyden, Boyup Brook, Kojonup, Jerramungup and Boxwood Hill. A day of fast-paced action on the court and on the oval was closed out by the respective finals in the afternoon. Narrikup were the Fast 5 champions to pocket $2000 while Gibson won a last-minute thriller in the AFLX to walk away $3000 richer. The atmosphere throughout the day was terrific as supporters cheered on their teams. A strong crowd stayed on after the presentations to enjoy live music, refreshments and food as they mingled with people from a wide range of areas.
