Ali G, Ricky Bobby, Shrek, Kath and Sharon — the big names were on show at the Big Freeze at Boxwood Hill on Saturday. And in the case of Kevin Augustynek and his mankini, there was arguably too much on show. An annual event hosted by the Boxwood Hill and Lake Grace-Pingrup football clubs, the Big Freeze has become one of regional Australia’s most successful community fundraisers in the fight against motor neurone disease. Seven people signed up to take the plunge into icy waters, including former AFL players Mitch Morton and Brett Peake. Organisers were aiming to raise $50,000 this year, after raising more than $200,000 in the previous four years. As of Friday afternoon, they had already passed the $60,000 mark.
