Green Range-Ongerup finished senior country week on a winning note as they won their fifth and sixth play-off against Albany and Districts 3 on the final day in Perth.

Last Thursday Green Range-Ongerup beat Collie 1 by 40 runs to avoid playing off for relegation last Friday at the week-long tournament.

In the Twenty20 play-off on the final day, Albany and Districts won the toss and batted but could only manage 78 thanks to a wonderful spell from Robin Grice.

Grice snared three top-order wickets on his way to a five-wicket haul to leave his side needing 79 for victory.

From 3.3 overs, Grice returned 5-11 while the rest of the wickets were shared around.

Shane Edmonds (12) and Kade Walter (21) got Green Range-Ongerup off to a flier but a middle-order collapse got Albany and Districts back into the game.

Tom Richardson (1), Kyran Brooks (0), Harry Brown (7) and Connor Smallwood (6) all departed in quick succession after the loss of the openers, but Lewis Davis saved the day with 20 not out.

Davis and Wayne Evans (1no) got their side across the line with four wickets in hand and nine overs remaining.

Jeremy Nelson was the star on Thursday in their win over Collie, his four wickets helping bowl their rivals out for 95.

Smallwood (2-23) took two important top-order wickets and was well supported by Mitch Smith (2-14) and Will Bungey (2-9), but Nelson cleaned up the tail with 4-20 from 6.4 overs to ensure his side got across the line.

Earlier Smallwood made 36 at the top of the order, and contributions from Bungey (31) and Smith (22) helped Green Range-Ongerup make 135.

On Wednesday, Green Range-Ongerup suffered a narrow four-run loss to Bunbury and Districts 3.

Batting first, Green Range-Ongerup reached 7-199 on the back of a strong 43 from Brown while Davis (39), Bungey (34) and Smith (27no) also got amongst the runs.

Green Range-Ongerup started their week with a 43-run win over Albany and Districts but then lost by two wickets to West Pilbara 2.

Nelson was the third leading wicket-taker in the division with 10 at an average of 8.7, while Davis was their leading run scorer for the week with 94 runs from five innings.
