Ex-Geelong swingman Timm House has returned home to Gnowangerup after spending two years on the cats senior list

Former Geelong swingman Timm House will pull on the red and blue Bulldogs jumper this season for his hometown Gnowangerup after moving back to the family farm. House moved to Victoria in 2015 to complete a university farm management course at Marcus Oldham College, that he finished in December last year. While completing his degree House joined Newtown and Chilwell in the Geelong and District Football League coached by Cats triple premiership player David Wojcinski, where he helped them make a grand final. House’s rise continued as Troy Selwood asked him to train with Geelong’s VFL team the following pre-season. After a very impressive VFL season with the Cats, the utility was taken with pick 68 in the 2016 national draft, to join Geelong’s AFL list. He did not play an AFL game during his two years on the Cats AFL list. House played for Gnowangerup up until Year 7 and said he was itching to be back having a kick in the Ongerup Football Association season that begins next week. “I always had plans to move home but I wasn’t always sure when it would come around,” House said. “It has been good to come home and help out on the farm. I’m very excited to play at my junior club. “I remember idolising the A-grade players when I was playing juniors and it’s exciting that I get to play for the team that dad and grandpa played for.” The 25-year-old played 44 VFL games for Geelong and booted 26 goals before moving to Werribee last season after being delisted at the end of 2018. “My time in the VFL was overall really good,” he said. “While it had its ups and downs I met a lot of great people and got to play with a lot of great players. “I really hope that my footy experience will help my teammates improve and I’d like to think that I can be someone that kids can look up to. “I’m hoping I can bring something different to the footy club both in training and games. “Hopefully I can be a resource for the other players to answer questions or bounce ideas off.” House bought two mates over from Victoria to help on the farm and said they have been great additions to the work team and community. “I think we are going to be competitive and I think being such a short season it will give any team an opportunity to play some good footy,” he said. House attended Hale School in his teenager years before playing colts and reserves at Claremont prior to moving east.
