A Kojonup St John Ambulance volunteer was the victim of a home burglary while they were out on a job in the early hours of the morning last month. Early on Sunday, November 14, an offender or offenders broke into the volunteer’s home on McLeod Street in Kojonup after they were called out. Thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen. Kojonup Police Sergeant Jayden Lowe described it as “disgusting behaviour”. “Just the fact someone was out there helping members of the community and someone has taken the opportunity to enter their house and steal their valuables is disgusting behaviour,” he said. “Preying on volunteers is not the behaviour we tolerate in Kojonup.” Kojonup St John Ambulance took to Facebook to express their disappointment. “Unfortunately, someone broke into the home of one of our volunteers while they were serving the community,” they said. Anyone with any information is asked to call Kojonup Police on 9831 2555 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperswa.com.au.
