Lochie Taylor takes out win in competitive 17s division in round six of Woorree Park BMX Club
Geraldton’s Woorree Park BMX Club was pulsating with adrenaline as round six of the BMX season unfolded.
In the highly anticipated 17-plus men’s event, Lochie Taylor emerged triumphant, delivering a stellar performance to clinch the top spot on the podium. However, it was far from an easy victory as Taylor faced stiff competition from formidable opponents.
Brock Bylund secured a commendable second place, while Brent McDonald demonstrated his prowess by claiming the third spot.
Notably, Brent McDonald’s battle with his son Daniel McDonald added an extra layer of excitement to the races, with both competitors fiercely vying for position throughout the evening.
Despite the intense competition, Taylor continued to assert his dominance, maintaining his position at the top of the leaderboard.
His achievement was further highlighted by an impressive fastest lap time of just over 33sec., solidifying his status as a top competitor on the local BMX circuit.
In the 11-13 boys’ category, Zeth Curtin delivered a standout performance, securing the gold medal after a thrilling race in which he edged out Banjo Hutton, who settled for a close second place.
Meanwhile, in the 11-12 expert group, Mason Herron showed his skills and determination, crossing the finish line in first place to claim the top spot on the podium.
Ashlin Barton-Collins put on an impressive display of riding prowess to secure the second spot, further adding to the excitement of the event.
The evening kicked off with the Mini Wheelers taking to the track, delighting families and spectators with their spirited races.
Despite their small stature, these young riders showed remarkable talent and enthusiasm, setting the stage for an electrifying evening of BMX action.
