UPDATE: A fire which threatened live and homes in Perth’s south has been downgraded to an advice.

A fire broke out near the intersection of Azelia Road and Janson Road near Manning Park in Hamilton Hill just after midday, prompting water bombers to be called in to kill the threat from the air.

Authorities have now downgraded the threat, issuing a bushfire advice, for those living in an area bounded by Azelia Road, Rockingham Road and Cockburn Road.

The fire is now contained and there is no longer a threat to lives and homes.
