Nedlands fire: Residents lucky to escape after electrical fault sparks blaze at home on Hillway St

A home in Perth’s western suburbs erupted into flames in a terrifying blaze.

Four firefighting crews raced to the Hillman Street property in Nedlands shortly after 8.20am on Friday after a fire broke out in a bedroom.

Emergency services were able to extinguish the blaze by 9am, with the fire being contained to one room.

Several residents were home at the time of the fire but all were able to escape the property with no injuries.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but did not require transportation to hospital.

DFES told PerthNow the fire was believed to be caused by an electrical fault in the home.
