A house has been destroyed in an early-morning inferno that triggered a major emergency response in Perth’s north.

The house was completely taken over by fire by the time DFES crews arrived, with St John Ambulance also responding and treating a man in his 40s.
Two adults and two children were home at the time but managed to evacuate in time.
An electrical fault with a heater has been blamed for causing the fire.

A section of the home’s roof collapsed in the fire.
It is not yet known what caused the fire.
