A man has been charged with a string of offences after another man was allegedly shot in the leg and a third seriously injured in Brisbane's north.

The 26-year-old has been remanded in custody and will reappear in a Brisbane court on March 7 on nine charges including two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm following the incident earlier this month.

Police found a 38-year-old man in a critical condition with a "serious gun shot wound to his leg" and a 48-year-old man who had allegedly been assaulted when they were called out to a Wavell Heights address on January 14.

Police believe there was an altercation involving a large group of people before the alleged shooting at the Highlands St address, with a car seen leaving the area shortly afterwards.
