A baby is missing off the coast of South Australia after the bodies of a mother and her toddler were pulled from the ocean.
Emergency services rushed to the state’s southernmost coastal town, Port Macdonnell, about 11.15am on Monday after they were alerted to a car with its engine running.
Officers launched a search and found two bodies in the ocean a short time later.
They have been identified as a 36-year-old woman from Compton, near Mount Gambier, and her toddler.
Crews are searching for a missing infant.

Sign up“Police have grave concerns for the child’s safety,” a South Australia Police spokesperson said.
Major Crime detectives and forensic specialists are travelling to the scene.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen a white Isuzu MUX, registration S592BJR, to contact Crime Stoppers.
