Youngsters in seventh heaven

Albany Rugby Club prevailed in a tense final against Mandurah to win the Albany Sevens Tournament at Aus-tralian Christian College on September 3.

With six clubs competing from Perth, Mandurah and Bunbury in the under-9s tournament, Albany finished first in the round-robin stages before overcoming Mandurah 3-2 in the final.

Scott Ericson shone throughout the tournament for Albany, while Max Osborne scored the winning try.

Albany coach Paul Osborne described the win as a team effort. “Everyone ... worked together as a team, so it was great to be able to win the overall tournament,” he said.
