A woman has emerged unscathed after her SUV rolled and landed on its roof in the middle of Middleton Road yesterday.

Just after 5pm, emergency services responded to a call of a single-vehicle crash in the Albany CBD.

Police say a white Holden Captiva was travelling in a southerly direction on Middleton Road, when it mounted the curb and struck a thick support wire or guy-wire attached to a power pole.

The car then hit the power hole and flipped.

Senior Constable Bennet Moss said the driver was breath-tested at the scene and is helping police with their investigation into the crash.

“The vehicle is basically a write-off,” Sen. Cons. Moss said.

“The driver is assisting us with our inquires.

“It doesn’t appear speed was involved here — the car has mounted the curb and gone into the power pole.

“We have heard some reports of a car on the wrong side of the road in other locations but we are still interviewing witnesses.”
