Watch and act for Bremer Bay

A bushfire in the Shire of Jerramungup has been upgraded to a watch and act.

The warning has been issued for people bounded by Borden-Bremer Bay Road to the north, Warramurrup Road to the east, the coastline to the south and Reef Beach Road to the west, in the western part of Bremer Bay and the eastern part of Boxwood Hill in the Shire of Jerramungup.

There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching in the area and conditions are changing.

You need to leave or get ready to actively defend.

The fire started near the intersection of Borden- Bremer Bay Road and Warramurrup Road.

The bushfire is moving in a south westerly direction, it is contained but not controlled.

A number of roads have been closed including, Reef Beach Road and Warramurrup Road.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

It has currently burnt 200 hectares and the cause is unknown.
