Perth Cup-winning jockey Lucy Warwick will be out to add to her four victories in the Great Southern so far when she takes five rides on Sunday afternoon at Percy Spencer Racecourse.

Fresh from riding Material Man to victory in the Group 2 $500,000 TABtouch Perth Cup (2400m) at Ascot for her father, Justin Warwick, the former champion apprentice will return to Albany for the second time this season.

Warwick rode four winners at the first meeting in Albany this season and sits behind Mitchell Pateman (five wins) and Shaun McGruddy (seven) in the Great Southern Jockeys’ Premiership.

The 20-year-old has a terrific book of rides on the seven-race card, partnering with impressive maiden galloper Calbanesco to kickstart her day.

Calbanesco produced a strong debut effort to run second to talented three-year-old Cold As Cold on Boxing Day and the Kevin Allen-trained youngster looks ideally placed in the GWN7 Maiden (1100m) from barrier two carrying 56.5kg.

Warwick will also be aboard the Steve Wolfe-trained Mr Page, rides maiden runner Finishing Rain and takes mounts for Peter Western on consistent pair Parisienne Lady and Lord Kronos.
