A 32-year-old man torched three cars and a boat belonging to family members in a late-night arson spree across Albany. Wade Timmer, 32, pleaded guilty to three charges of criminal damage by fire, in Albany Magistrates Court on Thursday, appearing by video link from Graylands Hospital. Timmer set fire to a Volkswagen ute in Mt Melville, a Toyota panel van in Gledhow, and a Toyota Landcruiser and Seafarer boat in Mckail on August 4 last year. The fire in Gledhow spread to the roof of the garage and damaged the home. Timmer carried out the arson attacks from 10.40pm to 11pm, using bottles of accelerant. He faced Albany Magistrates court the day after the fires, where police prosecutor Sergeant Dave Loverock told the court the three victims were estranged family members and Timmer was living out of his car. On Thursday, Magistrate Dianne Scaddan committed the three charges to Albany District Court and requested psychological and psychiatric pre-sentence reports. Timmer is due to face Albany District Court on September 28.
