Vandals destroy sunscreen trial
The Albany Community Sunscreen Trial has been cut short after vandals continued to damage the free sunscreen dispenser in Eyre Park.
The City of Albany and TherryWhite Chemmart Chester Pass installed the sunscreen in December to help improve sun safety.
The SPF50+ sunscreen was located in the main gazebo and aimed to protect those who had forgotten sunscreen or misjudged the weather.
If the trail was successful, partners planned to place dispensers in additional locations to reduce the risk of skin cancer.
Images of the damaged sunscreen dispenser were shared on Facebook announcing the trial will be shelved.
