Denmark’s Boston Brewing Co has secured the title of WA’s best regional hospitality venue at this year’s Australian Hotels Association WA Hospitality Awards.

The popular brewery also won the family dining award, facing off against Albany’s Rustlers Steakhouse and Grill.

More than 900 stars of hospitality from across the State gathered at Crown Perth on Monday to celebrate the industry’s big awards night.

Boston Brewing Co general manager Glen Daniel said the team pride themselves on the venue being somewhere a family could go together.

“That is our whole market, to be seen as a family-friendly venue,” he said.

“We have the biggest playground out of any venue in the Great Southern, an indoor play area, and the family market is our target, so winning that is a very strong one for us.

“Winning the overall regional award is also a very big one because there are a lot of amazing venues down here. The more publicity for the area the better, and we hope to see a few more venues and breweries down our way, because the more things there are for customers to come and do here, the better.”

It has been a tough year for the business, which Mr Daniel said made the awards even more meaningful.

“It is nice to get recognition for the staff who recognise that all their hard work has been noted in the industry,” he said.

“We’ve managed to pull a few staff together (in the worker shortage), some from our Perth venue staying in my house, because unfortunately accommodation for workers is still tough.” AHA WA chief executive Bradley Woods said this year had brought a record number of nominations, despite operators navigating one of the toughest years on record.
