WA Country XI women’s team have struggled to have an impact at the Australian Country Cricket Championships, recording six straight losses after their heavy defeat against East Asia Pacific in yesterday’s Twenty20 game.

Albany duo Hannah Felton and Georgie Middleton were both dismissed for under five as WA could only manage 9-89.

East Asia Pacific made light work of the total chasing it down early in the 13th over, Felton and Middleton both bowled but neither claimed a wicket.

WA posted their best batting score against South Australia on Tuesday with Middleton making 16 off 10 balls, including two fours, before being run out.

Despite their best effort with the bat, WA were unsuccessful in chasing down South Australia total of 5-138 as Middleton returned 1-19 off four overs.

In the earlier game on Tuesday, WA were restricted to 6-69 against Queensland, who made light work of the target as they secured victory in the ninth over.

On Monday afternoon, WA fell just 17 runs short of their first win against Victoria.
