More than a third of the City of Albany’s electors have taken the opportunity to have their say with just days left to run in this year’s local government elections.

At the end of Tuesday, 9789 of the 29,102 election packages sent out had been returned, just a touch over 33.5 per cent.

The current return rate is about the same as previous City of Albany elections and more than 5 per cent higher than the cumulative return rate for this year’s elections throughout WA.

About 38 per cent of electors in the Shire of Denmark have returned their election packages, 2009 packages out of 5317 sent out.

The Shire of Plantagenet’s return rate is slightly lower at 36 per cent as 1416 our of 3904 packages had been returned by the end of Tuesday.

All three local governments were boosted by a significant spike in returned packages on Thursday last week.

Packages must be returned to the respective local government returning officer by October 21 to be included in the count.
