Katie White is a singer, chef and one of the first people in history to obtain their Plant Based Culinary Arts Diploma, the first of its kind at that calibre, from Le Cordon Bleu London.

She lives on a rural and picturesque property in Western Australia, where she combines and shares her love for animals, passion for cooking and instinctual knowledge for growing organic produce.

Celebrating how easy it is to make sensational and compassionate food at home, Katie’s recipes are always seasonal and produce-driven and make cooking easy and fun.

Featuring 100-plus hearty and mouth-watering plant-based recipes that are seasonal, low-waste and easy, The Seasonal Vegan is for anyone who wants to eat from the heart and live a more sustainable life — whether they’re vegan or not — and improve their cooking skills along the way.

It even features tips on how to grow your own food.

No stranger to the Great Southern, Katie previously owned and ran an avocado farm in Denmark.

It was here while working the farm that Katie researched biodynamics, permaculture and animal husbandry and immersed herself into cultivating her own seasonal produce.

This experience led Katie to further her culinary training at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in London.

On a recent return visit to the region on June 3, Paperbark Merchants had the pleasure of Katie’s company for an in-store book signing.

Katie, accompanied by her trusty canine companion Teddy, signed books, chatted with locals and shared her ideas about vegan produce and cuisine.

Teddy relaxed by Katie’s side and enjoyed the passing pats and praise as Katie eagerly talked about food, generously sharing many tips and tricks for enhancing one’s vegan cooking experience.

She is more than happy to share her knowledge and expertise, encouraging those she chatted with to reach out, via her blog and socials, if they needed further guidance.
