The mystery of the bed atop of Dog Rock
Albany woke to find a unique piece of public art atop its beloved Dog Rock landmark on Tuesday.
Someone scaled the landmark on Monday night and placed a bed, bedside and lamp at the summit.
The mysterious makeshift accommodation got tongues wagging on the Albany Advertiser’s Facebook page before it was pulled down later in the day.
Even the real Dog Rock Motel got in on the act, commenting “we were full” on a video on the Advertiser page.
Chloe Scott suggested someone was “in the dog house”, while Steven Broadway described it as “Albany’s COVID quarantine accommodation”.
Rachel Cuddihy said it brought new meaning to the term, Airbnb. “Or in this case, Fresh Airbnb,” Ms Cuddihy said.
HERE’S WHAT OUR READERS HAD TO SAY:
Well, accommodation is expensive these days!
I think it’s bedrock.
That’s Dog Rock Hotel right there.
Not very nice weather to be camping out in the open in Albany.
Someone teaching their teenager a lesson!
How much do they charge a night?
Does it come with breakfast?!
Thank goodness Australian humour is still alive and well.
I got kicked out last night and I got told to go sleep in the dog house so I did.
God, I love Albany.
