Albany drivers have filled the podium at the Formula 125 State Title held at Ellenbrook Speedway on Sunday, with Nathen Tester claiming his maiden WA crown.

Nathan Tester started alongside Jacinta Tester in the 15-lap final but it was veteran Albany driver Bill Beeck who made the early running in front.

Beeck’s run would come to an early end with a blown engine as Nathen Tester had moved to second ahead of Jacinta Tester and defending WA champion Braiden Jewell, also from Albany, who began from third spot.

The battle between Nathen and Jacinta Tester in the concluding stages was a ripper but it was Nathen who prevailed despite a broken radiator hose, winning his first senior State title in the process.

Jacinta Tester crossed the line in second place while Brandon Tester rounded out the podium after passing Jewell on the second-last lap of the final.

Other Albany drivers to finish inside the top 10 were Jewell (fourth), Craig Tester (sixth), Chris Pittaway (eighth) and Tim Green (ninth).

In the junior 125s State title, Albany’s Cameron Tester finished in fifth place.
