Suspicious Albany fires under investigation

Albany Detectives are seeking information relating to two scrub fires in Albany.

The first fire occurred sometime after midnight on Sunday 3 February on Mead Road near Watari Rise in Kalgan.

The second fire on Mt Melville on Thursday around 4.55pm is also under investigation by police.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended both scenes and extinguished the fires which are being treated as suspicious.

Detectives are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles or who has any dash cam footage of the area around the time of the fires is asked to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
