Survey open to help shape Great Southern cycling strategy
The Department of Transport is seeking community feedback as it continues to develop a regional cycling strategy.
An online survey is currently live, which will help shape the Great Southern 2050 Cycling Strategy.
The strategy, which is being developed in collaboration with the region’s 11 local governments, will set out a long-term vision for bike riding across the region.
It will include a potential cycling network covering key town sites and inter-regional connections.
The strategy will guide funding decisions and the prioritisation of key projects.
The online survey follows a community drop-in session hosted in Albany last month and is part of the second stage of the plan’s development. Initial stakeholder consultation took place in August and September.
As well as completing the survey, feedback can be provided via a clickable map where respondents can share their thoughts about issues, strengths, and ideas.
Further community consultation is expected early next year. The region’s councils will be given a chance to endorse the draft strategy before its adoption.
The online survey will be open until December 2 and can be found at - https://bit.ly/3G0a4Vj.
