Denmark surf sensation Isi Campbell has finished third in the third and final event of the WA State Junior Surfing Titles held in Geraldton earlier this month.

The final round was held in pumping surf on the Batavia Coast, firstly at Flat Rocks for the first two days and then Back Beach for the final day of competition.

Campbell competed in the under-18 junior girls, reaching the four-person final and finishing with a combined total of 10.11 out of a possible 20.

That score handed the young gun third place, behind round winner and Margaret River’s Ruby Berry (13.57) and fellow Margaret River product Willow Hardy (13.3).

Margaret River’s Kaleisha Launders was fourth on 6.77.

The battle for the under-18 girls State title was a cracker with Hardy getting the nod on a countback to defeat Berry.

Hardy was a consistent performer throughout the series posting a first and two second-place finishes from the three events.

More than 100 of WA’s brightest young surfing stars put on a show, in hopes of representing their State at the 2023 Australian Junior Surfing Titles to be held on Phillip Island, Victoria later this year.

Geraldton provided an epic conclusion to the three-event series, which started in Yallingup, before travelling to Trigg Beach and finishing in Geraldton.

Surfing WA will now focus on preparing the State champions and State team members for the upcoming nationals.
