IN PICTURES: Strong crowd turns out for annual Kleemann Medal presentations

Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate football’s night of nights in the Great Southern, the awarding of the 2021 Kleemann Medal, which was held at Retravision Stadium on Thursday, September 2. Players, coaches and officials from the league’s six affiliated clubs were among the strong crowd that dressed sharply for the annual gala awards night. The Kleemann Medal, awarded to the best and fairest player in the league competition, is the highlight of the evening. Royals’ Cameron Allison won his first H.B. Kleemann Medal with 22 votes to be a runaway winner in the 15-round count. A host of other awards were announced on the night, including the Great Southern Football League’s volunteer of the year, umpire of the year, and the Sean Plaisted trophy. The Albany Advertiser footballer of the year and GSFL team of the year were also revealed.
