Thousands of racegoers will be part of the Albany Racing Club’s marquee social event, the Boxing Day Races, on Sunday.

Huge crowds attend the annual race meeting on Boxing Day at Percy Spencer Racecourse in 2020 and this year is expected to be no different.

Gates open at noon and the first race starts at 1.58pm, with fun and festivities on and off the track.

There will be live music, face painting and a bouncy castle for the kids, plus food vans and bar facilities available during the day.

The club has a free bus service running from the centre of town to get patrons to the venue.

The entry cost is $20 for adults and $15 for concessions. Children are free when accompanied by their parents.

Albany Racing Club general manager Mark Bayliss said it promised to be another memorable day.

“Boxing Day is a really big event for our club,” he said.

“We are expecting a good, responsible crowd.

“There is plenty for the kids to do as well.

“Dress up and come and enjoy the festive day for what it is.”
