Hard nut Jayden Scott has been named in the Great Southern 20 for the third consecutive year after another outstanding performance at the Great Southern Colts Carnival, one of three Great Southern Storm representatives.

Scott and fellow Storm teammates Fraser Eaton and Rivah Bocian were all rewarded for strong individual efforts across the two-day carnival.

A group of selectors at the carnival select the Great Southern 20 team from the eight different teams competing at the carnival and again the Storm had strong representation.

Scott, who has played for neighbouring rivals Ongerup at the past two carnivals, has now joined the Great Southern Football League and the inside midfielder was terrific across the three matches.

Eaton impressed both selectors and umpires in the three games, playing across half-back and through the midfield to earn his place while young forward Bocian also received his first selection in the Great Southern 20 after kicking nine goals in three games.

Eaton finished equal third in the Harry Reeves Medal, awarded to the best and fairest player at the carnival, after polling 22 votes.

Combined by votes from umpires and selectors, Eaton had 11 votes from each to finish behind Peel’s Zachary Moody (30 votes) and Lower South West’s Jaxon East (28).

Goldfield’s Fraser Softley, Eastern Districts’ Harvey Bishop, Upper Great Southern’s Nathan Spooner and LSW’s Sam Van Dieman all finished with 22 votes.

Storm big man Kieran Gowdie polled 12 votes in total and teammate Taj Williams collected 11, all of which came from selectors.

Tough ball winner Codey Baxter was the next Storm player with seven votes and Scott finished with six.

Ongerup’s Hayden Richter was named in the Great Southern 20 and his impressive carnival also netted him 10 votes in the Harry Reeves Medal.
