A resilient Bethel 1 outfit withstood a strong challenge from Railways 2 to claim the Albany Netball Association A2 premiership on Saturday.

The six-goal victory was sealed by a strong last quarter and capped a terrific season for Bethel.

They, lost just one game all season, to their grand final opponents, in the first week of the finals.

The game was on the line, with scores level at three-quarter-time but Bethel’s class and hunger helped them prevail to secure premiership glory.

Both teams won two quarters but it was the last quarter that was the decisive period in the contest, with Bethel outscoring Railways by six goals to triumph 42-36.

Bethel held a three-goal lead at the first change before Railways trimmed the margin to one at the main break.

Railways won the third stanza by one goal but couldn’t keep it going in the final term.

Kangas 2 were 40-33 winners over Griffins 2 in the A3 decider after losing one game throughout the season.

Griffins 3 backed up their strong second semifinal performance with a 30-21 victory over Bullets 3 in the A4 grand final.

Kangas completed a perfect season with a comprehensive 45-29 win in the A5 grand final against Griffins 4.

Royals Saints 3 stepped up in the A6 finals and proved far too strong for Magpies 3, winning 46-24, after the latter finished well clear on top but went down to Royals Saints in their first final and in the decider.

Kangas 6 produced a major upset in the A7 decider prevailing 38-25 winners over Narrikup 5 who finished three games clear on top.
