Star Mt Barker cricketer Nathan Crudeli destroys his former side Railways again, this time with the ball

Nathan Crudeli has again wreaked havoc on his former side, snaring five wickets in Mt Barker’s demolition of Railways at Turf East on Saturday. The Tigers were skittled for 49 — the lowest A-grade team score this season — in round seven of the Albany and Districts Cricket Association as their former captain did the damage. The Bulls maintained their unbeaten run in the process as they secured a double bonus-point win. The reigning premiers crumbled to a dismal 8-15 as Crudeli ripped through the top order to take five of the first six wickets. He made 63 with the bat in their round 2 win over the Tigers. Crudeli clean bowled Alan Pietersen on the second ball of the game and then three balls later had Aubin Spurr caught behind with the Tigers 2-1 after one over. Steven Scott had Oswin D’Sylva caught before Crudeli again struck, this time bowling Aidan Dallimore for two as his side fell to 4-8. Crudeli’s third over of the game was a double wicket maiden as he removed Ryan Davies and then produced a peach to Jarrod Fuller, who attempted to leave a ball that swung back in and took out his middle stump. That gave Crudeli his fifth wicket in just 18 deliveries. Hayden Davies was trapped in front for a duck by Scott and when Mohit Jaggi was run out, it was a worrying time for the Tigers at 8-15 after just six overs. Tigers captain Coen Marwick was defiant as his teammates fell around him, making an unbeaten 18 while tail-enders Cooper Filipowski (10) and Ryan Tindale (7) provided some resistance to avoid total embarrassment. Crudeli finished with the superb figures of 5-15 off six overs, Scott claimed 3-16 off five overs and Jeremy Wood also snared 1-11. Mt Barker finished on 3-51 in reply as they chased down the total in the 17th over. Openers Alex Fergie and Tambellup’s Jack Taylor put on 32 before Taylor was bowled by Hayden Davies for 11. A brilliant one-handed diving catch from Tindale removed Fergie for 21 and Clayton Wood skied a ball off Hayden Davies (3-13) but it mattered little as the Bulls secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
