Minor premiers Manypeaks will face off in a do-or-die clash this Saturday against North Albany, as both look to progress to next week’s Albany Retravision Lower Great Southern Hockey Association men’s A-grade grand final.

Peaks missed their chance to advance straight through to the grand final at the hands of Spencer Park-Tigers.

Jack Dawson netted the first goal for Spencer Park-Tigers within the first 10 minutes before Will Mutton put his side 2-0 up just before quarter-time.

Youngster Oscar Latham quickly added a third goal from a Spencer Park-Tigers’ penalty corner, before Tim Pyle produced a quick response for Peaks to bring the score back to 3-1 midway through the second quarter.

Latham added his second goal no longer than five minutes later, as his side took a 4-1 lead in at half-time.

Spencer Park-Tigers made sure they didn’t give Manypeaks a sniff as Latham completed his hat-trick to ensure the 5-1 win.

Latham was influential, while the run of Sam Want was important and Sam Brown was also a solid contributor in helping his side advance to the decider.

Tim Pyle tried hard all day to wrestle the momentum back scoring their only goal while Kieran Howie was good also.

This Saturday’s preliminary final between Peaks and Redbacks will start at 3.30pm.
